What it takes to chair.

Academic rigour
You'll write the background guide delegates spend weeks reading. Every claim needs to hold up. We expect research depth and clarity in equal measure.

Control under pressure
Running a room of 30–50 delegates mid-debate is a skill. We look for people who stay calm when procedure breaks down and who can read a room quickly.

Fairness
The best chairs are the ones delegates forget about, because the committee ran itself. Impartiality and consistency matter more than personality.
